BEAUMONT, TX – With a unique 2021 coming to a close, Jefferson County Go Texan is preparing for a full World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Cookoff in Houston Feb. 24-26 at NRG Park. This year is poised to be one of the best years yet post-covid.
An annual event for JCGT, the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que contest officially kicks off the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. This upcoming year guarantees to be an exciting experience for all attendees.
“It’s been an extraordinarily tough year with Covid and other factors but we’re excited about getting back to what we know: putting on great events that raise funds for graduating seniors,” said Clint Burges, Jefferson County Go Texan Ambassador. “We have some amazing people who step up each year to help our mission.”
It’s not too late to join our sponsor. Support levels begin at $250 (Roughneck) to $2,500 (CEO) and all levels have new, accompanying gifts. RTIC® branded coolers and Richardson® Hats have been added to our premiums sponsors get when they give to a particular level. As an added option, renewing and new sponsors for 2022 that donate before December 15 will be able to knock 10 percent off the sponsor level.
“We want to build on our previous numbers and more by pushing the envelope even further for these local seniors,” said Burges. “We’re ready to have a great event in Houston and show our sponsors and friends a great time while ‘Supporting Youth Through Education.”
